ctrl+alt+reclaim is an open movement of civil society organizations and concerned citizens working together to reclaim digital spaces and challenge the abuses of Big Tech.
Controllers
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) addresses the data processing we undertake in connection with the ctrl+alt+reclaim website (the “Website”) and the ctrl+alt+reclaim newsletter (the “Newsletter”), including relevant petitions, campaign actions, and other declared activities.
This Policy does not cover other personal data processing outside the Website or Newsletter unless explicitly declared. Additional policies and procedures will be provided at the point of data collection or subsequently, as required by law.
This Policy is subject to regular review. Updates and amendments will be documented and communicated to affected individuals where necessary.
Guiding Principles
Website: The joint controller of personal data is ctrl+alt+reclaim.
Newsletter: The controller is ctrl+alt+reclaim, which manages the Newsletter mailing list, content creation, audience engagement, and strategy decisions. Both the Website and Newsletter controllers collaborate to ensure responsible processing of personal data.

ctrl+alt+reclaim is committed to defending digital rights and challenging Big Tech abuses. We follow the principles outlined in the ctrl+alt+reclaim Declaration and are accountable to a network of civil society groups worldwide.
Website Data
Please note that all internet usage generates additional metadata, which may be accessible to law enforcement and intelligence agencies. Individuals concerned about online surveillance are encouraged to use privacy-protecting tools such as VPNs or the Tor browser.
What We Collect, Why, and Legal Basis
When signing up for our Newsletter, we collect:
- Name
- Country
- Email address
Purpose: To send the Newsletter.
Legal basis: Consent, which can be withdrawn at any time via unsubscribe links or by contacting info@ctrl-alt-reclaim.org.
We collect limited data from visitors, including:
- Browser software and operating system
- IP address and general location
- URL of the referring website
- Data from contact forms (name, organization, country, email, message)
- Data from signing the ctrl+alt+reclaim Declaration (name, country, email)
Purpose: To provide Website services, handle inquiries, or record signatures.
